TECH LAB

In our Tech Lab, we'll explain the materials, technologies, and bows used at Giroux Hockey and what they mean for you as a player.

CARBON STRUCTURE

Two sticks with the same carbon percentage don't necessarily perform the same. There are significant differences in the quality of carbon fibers, as well as in the way they're woven and finished. Each of these factors has its own impact on performance and playing feel. At Giroux Hockey, we strive to use only the highest quality materials. That's why we use only premium 12K carbon in all our sticks.

Because Giroux Hockey is fully committed to offering top-quality sticks, unlike other brands, we do not use 8K, 6K, or 3K carbon.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
The "K" refers to the number of carbon fiber strands (filaments) bundled together to form a tow. These tows are then woven together to form carbon fiber cloth. For example, 12K carbon fiber contains 12,000 individual filaments per bundle.

A 12K "spread tow" carbon fiber undergoes a debundling process where the individual fibers are perfectly aligned on a single axis. This provides a significant performance improvement over non-debundled materials. The result is a stick that maximizes the potential of its raw materials.

TECHNOLOGY

Integrated Dampening System (IDS)

Integrated into the handle, within the stick's structure, is an advanced piezoelectric fiber cell. This first converts vibration waves into an electrical signal, which is then converted into heat energy, imperceptible to the player. Thanks to the use of IDS, we can produce sticks with exceptional stiffness without sacrificing feel and control.

Nano Polymer Reinforcement (NPR)

A self-assembling group of copolymers is interconnected and distributed throughout the stick's structure to increase the laminate's strength. By adding NPR to the epoxy, we can significantly increase impact resistance while simultaneously offering sticks with a much better feel, despite their extremely high stiffness.

Xtra Control Zone

A specific zone on the head of the stick, designed to improve first contact with the ball. By adding the Xtra Control Zone, we increase the grip level and simultaneously improve the power of our sticks.

BOW PROFILE

Our different stick profiles are designed to meet the demands of the modern, fast-paced game, while respecting the fact that every player has their own preferences and playing style.

Whether you're a fantastic drag flicker, excel in 3D skills, a tireless midfielder, or a classic player in development – we have the perfect profile for you.

Xtreme Bow AG.100.webp

The AG.100 model offers our latest bow. It's the perfect bow for the modern player who wants to refine their 3D skills or perfect their (drag)flicks.

The thinner profile of the shaft and the specific shape of the curl provide maximum support for an attacking playing style.

Maximum curvature (Bow Peak): 24.5 mm
Position of the bend (Bow Position): 200 mm

The JG.100 model has a flowing profile with a pro-bow, for the all-round player.

The thinner profile of the shaft and the shape of the curl also enhance a fast and dynamic playing style.

Maximum curvature (Bow Peak): 24.0 mm
Position of the bend (Bow Position): 250 mm

Our TG.100 model has a flowing profile with a pro-bow, which is not usually the case for children's sticks.

This stick also contains carbon. It's the ideal stick for both beginners and experienced youth players to further improve their all-around skills.
